April 30, 2000

I'm very proud to say today that I have finally spoken to Marilyn Burns. I had left a message yesterday with her about possibly selling her autographs on my website. I was delighted to get a call back from her! She is currently going through her boxes and gathering the glossy's that she has. She will get back with me shortly to let me know what she has and then she'll send them to me. I'll then post them to my site so that people can pick and choose what they would like. I'm also VERY excited in the fact that we're trying to arrange to have her original script of TCM photocopied for interested buyers. She said that her script is full of pasted pieces of paper and other corrections. So it sounds very intruging! I will of course keep posted any new status.

In other news, I was very delighted in the response I got for the TCM trivia. We have a winner. Please go to this page for more info.

By the way, David Greggory of Exploited Video, who is making the new TCM documentary, said that the interview with Tobe Hooper was GREAT! For more info on the doco, please go here.

MY SITE HAS REACHED OVER 10,000 HITS! THANK YOU!

My site has been public to the Internet since September of 1998. And I have met SO many TCM fans around the world. I have also become aquaintances and good friends of some of the cast of TCM. I have already surpassed every goal that I originally had for my site. So I think I'll drink that extra beer tonight! Yea, I'll take any excuse to drink a beer. But this is a good one! People may not think that 10,000 hits is a lot. But notice that the front page (http://www.texaschainsawmassacre.net/TCM.html) is not a page that is linked to from any part of my site. So the only hits that first page gets are from people who find it on a search engine, have it bookmarked, or follow another link from another web site. Many other web sites put their web counter on a main menu page in which one person will hit several times while exploring their web site. That's not a true count of how many people visit your site. So I think you can appreciate what this number means to me. Additionally, lots of people bookmark the main menu page, thus skipping the page with my hit counter on it. So I know that my site has taken many more hits than 10,000. And that's why I prefer for people to not bookmark that page. But now I'll stop with the dribble!

I contacted Paul Partain yesterday about possibly selling his 8X10 autographs on my web site. I've got his "OK". Now I'm just waiting for a description from him of what he has so that people can pick and choose what they would like. For more info on buying autographs from him or other cast members, go here.

I have created a new page for fans to purchase autographs from Gunnar Hansen and Ed Neal, as well as other merchandise. I'm working on getting an agreement going with other cast members to make their materials available on my site as well. Naturally, I will keep the news posted on my web site.

I talked to Ed Neal today about people who want his autograph. We agreed that people can go through my web site for his autographs and posters. I have posted a new web page with a list of what Ed has to offer and also Gunnar Hansen. Go HERE to check it out! I said it on that page, and I'll say it here. I DO NOT receive any monetary profits from helping Edwin or Gunnar sell their merchandise through my web site. I do it for free in the spirit of the movie, the fans and my self satisfaction.

In other news, I found an article on the La Frontera web site about when the freeway is due to start construction that will completely wipe out Quick Hill. Go to this page for more info. :-(

Several updates for today. I got word in from my good friend Scott Temple that TCM 2 is in the works to be released on DVD as early as August of this year. Check out http://www.thedigitalbits.com/rumormill.html for more information.

Gunnar Hansen verified for me that the picture of the person touching up the corpse is indeed Tobe Hooper. Additionally, on the same page, the picture of Gunnar and Tobe in the back of the 18-wheeler with the unknown person is Bob Burns. He has his back turned to the camera and he's out of focus. You can see both of these pictures at the bottom of this page.

I have also added more links to my links page.

And finally, I'd like to send my happy birthday salutations to my good friend in New York, Rick Balin. Rick is another Chainsaw freak like I am and he turns the big 50 today. Keep the saw greased up Rick! I hope you have a great b-day!

My good friend David Miller submitted some WONDERFUL pictures to me the past weekend of Quick Hill, the farm house, the barns and a couple of outstanding aerial shots of the hill. Please take the time to view his pictures on my Fan Foto section. He says that he has literally HUNDREDS more stored away in a scrap book. But he promised to break them out and send them to me as well. I'm holding you to your word Dave!

HAPPY APRIL FOOLS! I hope that any fooling around at your cost wasn't too bad!

I've made several needed updates to my web site. I've added a several new pages to my site. One is news about a new TCM documentary by a UK company called "Exploited Video". To find out more, go here. Other new pages I've written are about owning a piece of the original Leatherface house from the movie. For that, go here. Too long to talk about in my news section, so just go to them! I also had dinner with Paul Partain last week. He's a very, VERY nice guy! We talked quite a bit about not only Chainsaw, but other topics as well. He informed me where most of the highway footage was shot during the early part of the film. So I made a brief page for that here.

I have also updated some cast member profiles on my Where Are They Now page.

And by the way, thanks for visiting my site! I really appreciate it!
