Today my wife and I went to the REAL cemetery where the opening scenes were shot as well as the cemetery scenes with the kids looking for their grandfather's grave.  I took LOTS of pictures in the same perspective as the camera shots in TCM.  I'll also have some screen shots from the movie for you to compare more closely my pictures with the movie.  I turned in the pictures today to be developed, so once they're done I'll completely revamp the cemetery page.

In other news, Rick Balin sent another picture of himself with Gunnar for me to post on his Fan Foto page.  Check that out here.

WELL!  After great time and effort, and a scanner that DIED on me, I have finally posted pictures of Ed Neal, more gas station shots and the gate that I took from Quick Hill.  I'd also like to send out my apologies for not making more updates to my web page.  I was laid off from my regular job of 3½ years last December 30th, but I'm going to start my new job tomorrow.  One that will pay me more for working less than I did at my previous job!  Ain't that a HOOT?!?!  I will be going to the cemetery in Leander next weekend, so I'll have more pictures to post then.  I even hope to have pictures of the tombstones that appeared at the start of TCM.  Once again, thank you for your patience, and the news should be picking up from now on.

I've FINALLY developed the film with pictures of me, Gunnar and Ed Neal.  I'll shortly get those pictures posted.  In other - BETTER - news:  I've been having the distinct feeling that the cemetery that I took pictures of is not the actual cemetery where film was shot.  I confirmed it last week by driving out there with shot from the film with me on hardcopy and I could not find any tombstones to match.  So I asked Gunnar if the next time he chats with Bob Burns, if he'd ask him where it was shot.  And what did I find in my mailbox a couple of hours ago?  A reply from Gunnar saying that he asked Bob for me and he passed the info along to me.  Bob says that they traveled to the Bagdad Cemetery on Bagdad St. in Leander, TX.  Leander is just north of Austin.  So hopefully this weekend, my wife and I will make a trip out there to find the tombstones and take some pictures.  And the last bit of news I have is that I also went back to the original BBQ shack and took some pictures of the room where all the action took place with Marilyn and Jim.  I should have all of this posted either later this evening or tomorrow.  And HEY!  Thanks for keeping up with my slow news lately!

SO!  Everyone survived the biggest "non-event" in history!  AND, you must have survived christmas and new year's as well!  Congratulations.  By now you've received your credit card bills for all the christmas presents you bought.  And you actually thought that the Y2K bug would permenantly wipe out all records of your purchases!  Oh well...  On to some Chainsaw related news.

I've posted a couple of changes to my web site.  I've added a new FAQ to my FAQ page and I've updated the picture of Gunnar on the Where Are They Now page.  I KNOW!  I KNOW!  I've got to get those pictures of me, Gunnar and Ed Neal developed from last November!  Money's been tight.  But I'll get them developed on next payday.  I PROMISE!
