There's quite a bit of Chainsaw news to post this time around, so I'll try to cover it all.

The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003 remake is going to have a world premiere here in Austin, TX.  It's on September 27th and it will be hosted by Lee Ermey, who also plays Sheriff Hoyt in the film, will be hosting the screening.  This will take place on the old Travis School grounds which used to be a school for the mentally ill.  How fitting.  For more info on the screening, I suggest going to Harry's site.

In other remake news, I received a press invitation to attend the screening of the remake in Los Angeles and in New York.  The invitation came from New Line cinema.  They forwarded me the invitations in MS Word format.  I posted links to the invitations in the Remake section.

Another screening, but for the original film, will be at the Four Bears restaurant in Kingsland, TX on Halloween.  There will be a tour of the house done with Ed Neal, the actor who played the Hitch Hiker from the film.  For more detailed info about it, read the previous post about it below from September 7th.

My good friend, Robert Driver, informs me that TCM 3 will be available on DVD on September 30th.  But to be honest, I'm not hurrying to pick that little gem up.  (;->)

And there are several new submissions to the Fan Foto section.  They are Robert Inman (who sent a TON of pics!), Noel Gross and William Ashley.

And finally, there are a couple of new places where people think the "real" TCM happened.  Those are Amarillo and Carrollton, TX.  Go HERE for the entire list.

There will be a screening of Texas Chainsaw Massacre at the Four Bears Restaurant in Kingsland, TX.  If you recall, the original TCM house that was used in the original 1973 film has been converted into a restaurant and most recently purchased to new owners.  It was formerly the Kingsland Old Town Grill.  The Alamo Drafthouse, here in Austin, has a new feature called the Rolling Roadshow.  They transport a large viewing screen to a location and show movies.  On Halloween, October 31st, the Rolling Roadshow will be screening the Texas Chainsaw Massacre behind the restaurant.  They're calling it, "The Ultimate Chainsaw Experience".  Here is the excerpt they have on their web site about this event.

"THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE Tobe Hooper, USA 1974 35mm Running Time 83 min.

No Texan worth their own spit can deny being touched by what many consider to be the finest American horror film ever made. For five young friends, a summer afternoon drive becomes a terrifying nightmare. You know it, you love it. Despite its meagre budget, the film spawned a slew of imitations and an entire school of realist filmmaking. In the wake of the recent Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, a special screening of Tobe Hooper’s pivotal American classic is certainly in order. Having located the Victorian home which served as Chainsaw’s primary location – souped up and operating as an upscale country restaurant called “The Four Bears” – the Rolling Roadshow will present the ultimate chainsaw experience, complete with a screening of the film, special guests and a meal to die for. Tiered ticketing will be in effect -- but VIP tickets (which include a gourmet dinner inside the house, a tour by an original Chainsaw cast member and a collectible T-shirt) will be in short supply, so stay tuned to the website for ticketing information!"

I have yet to find out who the original cast member will be.  You can bet that my wife and I will be there on October 31st.  And I hope to get to see you there too!  I have updated the Hot Topics section on this we well.

The official web site for the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake has been well updated with more pictures, videos, desktop wallpapers, etc.  Check out that site HERE.

Rick sent in a scan of the Danish TCM cover, and Dane Sears submitted a picture of some 3-D rendering he is doing of Quick Hill.  For more information on these Fan Foto submissions, go to the Fan Foto section.
