There is a 95% chance that there will be an outdoor screening of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 in Luling, Texas on November 17th.  Cast members in attendance will be Marilyn Burns, Allen Danziger and Bill Johnson.  I'll be out there as well with a table representing the official TCM Fan Club.  Once I get the final word from Marilyn tonight, I'll give all the details right here.

Going...  going...

Yes, that's what's happening with Quick Hill.  The primary film location for the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.  For those who are just joining us, it was on this small hill in Round Rock, Texas, (coincidentally about 4 miles away from where I live), that the house used for the Leatherface home stood and most of the film was shot on.  I've been talking about this for over nine years now - since September of 1998 when I first started my web site.  First, it was toll road 45 that has blazed right through Quick Hill, coming within just yards of where the house used to stand.  Almost simultaneously, the La-Frontera development started construction just east of Quick Hill.  Where there was once only fields, trees and wildlife, now there is a Marriot hotel, restaurants, banks, office spaces, and tons of stores to shop in.  Such as Sams, Circuit City, Lowes, Barnes and Noble.  I think you get the picture.

So far, this new construction is on the east side of the hill - the east side of where the house used to be.  The actual plot of land that the house used to be on is still untouched.  But this new construction comes within yards of where the house used to be.  I've already e-mailed and called all three local Austin television stations and told them about the film, where it was made and the current status of the hill.  I told them that Round Rock was a host to the most famous and influencial horror movie of all time.  And that the historical land that was once home to "Leatherface" is about to be no more because of bulldozers.  I've offered to do interviews with all of them, to make all the viewers aware of the historical significance that Quick Hill has.  And I believe this is good timing as well, because Halloween is around the corner.

So, what can you do if you want to see the hill before it's gone?  Well, you can do a couple of things.  #1 - if you're able to fly to Austin, Texas and want to visit the hill and all the other film locations from the original, 2003 & 2006 films, you can book a tour of the locations with me through Texas Chainsaw Tours.  If you're not able to fly into Austin, you can buy the tour booklet for $10.

So, I urge you to contact the TV stations yourself.  Tell them what's going on and that they should contact me for an interview.  They can call me at 512-750-6726.  Here's the links to the TV station's web sites.
