I recently heard about the passing of Paul Partain. I have to say, I cant seem to get over the fact he is gone. I met Paul at the April 2003 Chiller Theater Show in East Rutherford, NJ. I think when going, I was more excited about meeting Gunnar than anything. But when I entered the area, Gunnar had stepped out to lunch. Mr. Partain however was there, so I quickly went up to have him sign my TCM DVD cover. He seemed really happy to meet me, and cheerfully said to hang out for a bit, and Gunnar would be back and would be happy to sign my DVD cover. I later purchased TCM: The Next Generation. And asked Paul to sign that as well, since he had made a cameo in that. He seemed really happy that some of us fans realized it was him in that. He gladly signed it for me, signing "Your Orderly Pal, Paul Partain". He ended up being one of my favorite guests at the show, because he seemed so happy to meet his fans, and was very kind to everyone. After the convention, I returned home, and went on his site, and sent him a Thank you e-mail, in which he replied, saying he had remembered me because of the TCM: The Next Generation DVD. I realized he had wrote from an AOL address, so I added him to my buddy list. From there, we chatted occasionally online, and he even gave me advice on getting into acting, which I will be forever grateful for. Usually, I don't get too upset over movie stars passing, but Mr. Partains passing has really hit me hard. I will never forget his kindness, and generosity. He was one of the few that really appreciated the fans, and he will be forever missed, and will live forever in our hearts. Jared Soden
